Circular Geometry guides the way to go

Hydrant Hotel 2016
Rivderhead, NY

PROGRAM:
Renovation to a warehouse building converting to be a daycare and boarding facility for dogs

START:
The new main entry needed to face narrow side yard.  Having a vast, vacant front yard where visitors access, how to guide them smoothly to the narrow side yard was a design challenge in the tight budget.

EXPLORATION:
A circular access simply guided with post & rail fencing and painted lines on the paving answered the problem.  The circular access continues to the back yard for the parking.
In the building, the existing warehouse character was fully preserved, with minimum adjustment for the new use.
